Led by Jim Leyritz's key game-tying home run in Game Four of the World Series, the 1996 New York Yankees went on to win four in a row and bring home the World Series for the first time in almost two decades. Each member of the team was presented with a "Key To The City" by Mayor Giuliani during the championship celebration back in New York. This particular key is the one presented to the hero Jim Leyritz. This large 6" "Key To The City" is a facsimile of the one made in 1812 for the door of City Hall in New York. The gold colored key has the New York City logo inlaid on the left. Across the body is embossed "Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani." In NRMT-MINT condition with some very tiny scratches, comes with original NRMT-MINT 7" x 4" x 1 1/4" black felt presentation box with plaque that reads "Facsimile of Key Made in 1812 For the Door of City Hall, New York." Accompanied by a Leyritz family letter.
