PAUL O'NEILL entered the 2001 World Series with five championships already under his belt, four of them coming with the New York Yankees. This was O'Neill's final season, and this bat may be considered the last game-used bat of his illustrious career. Against the tough pitching of Diamondbacks' Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling, O'Neill posted a .333 batting average for the seven game series. On the front barrel is the name "Paul A. O'Neill" stamped in script-style lettering with adjacent "2001 World Series" stamped in block letters. Tape has been applied to the full handle in typical O'Neill fashion with a criss-cross pattern. Light pine tar has been added to aide in grip. Numerous cleat marks are visible on all sides of the barrel. Ball marks are slammed into predominantly the right side of the barrel area, with legible blue ball transfer marks. Man: H&B, Model: C243, Order Period: 2001 WS, L: 35 in, W: 33.6 oz, Wood: Ash, Finish: Standard. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectables COA.
