Rodriguez's professional career began with the Seattle Mariners before he signed an unprecidented free agent deal with the Texas Rangers. In 2003 he became the youngest player in major league history to reach 300 home runs. Also that year, he was named American League Most Valuable Player and traded to the New York Yankees three weeks later - the first MVP to be traded in major league history. On June 8, 2005 the 29-year-old "A-Rod" went down in the record books as the only player in baseball history to hit 400 home runs before reaching age 30. On the front left tail of this jersey is the "Russell" manufacturers tag with a series of flag tags attached reading size "50" "100% POLYESTER" and "+2" EXTRA LENGTH". Below that is another tag that reads "2004". Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back is the player number "13." All lettering and numbering is done in navy blue on white tackle twill. On the back outside collar is the embroidered official "MLB" logo. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles COA.
