Ever since the early days of baseball, the scoreboard has been integral in the fans' enjoyment of the game. Other than displaying information about the game in progress, the scoreboard can also showcase the out-of-town scores and the occasional birthday greeting! With the exception of a very few ballparks such as Fenway Park in Boston, most baseball stadiums long ago opted to completely go with the electronic scoreboard, over the manual variety. This large metal panel was but one of many sections that comprise the celebrated Yankee Stadium scoreboard. This rectangular plank consists of 40 evenly spaced sockets arranged in eight rows of five each. Into each socket is screwed a floodlight, wired through the back into a master console. Put several of these panels together, and voila - you have a scoreboard.
