A true five-tool athlete who never spent a day in the minor leagues, Dave Winfield played 22 seasons, earning 12 All-Star Game selections. In tours of duty with six major league teams, Winfield batted .283, hit 465 home runs, and amassed 3,110 hits. He was a seven-time Gold Glove winner and helped lead the Toronto Blue Jays to their first World Championship in 1992. On the Left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturer's size "44" tag with wash instructions on it. On the inside back collar is a strip tag with "Winfield 81 1" embroidered on it. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back is the player number "31." All lettering and numbering is done in navy blue on white tackle twill. There was a black armband on the jersey in 1981 for the death of former Yankees player Elston Howard. The jersey is tagged from 1981, and worn in 1981 with a black armband and 1982 with the black armband removed by Dave Winfield. The jersey shows game-use and besides the black armband being removed appears to have no alterations of any kind.
