A sterling silver tray presented to Chicago Cubs Third baseman Randy "Ransom" Jackson for his participation in the 1955 Major League Baseball All- Star game. "Ransom" went 1-3 in the game with an RBI and a run scored and was a late inning replacement for starter Eddie Matthews. It measuring 16-1/4" x 27" x 1" and has a floral pattern engraved on the inner tray. It has a handle on each side, each measuring 4". At the center on the tray is engraved "RANSOM JACKSON 22nd ANNUAL ALL STAR GAME MILWAUKEE JULY 22, 1955 NATIONAL LEAGUE 6 AMERICAN LEAGUE 5". The tray shows some scattered tiny dark spots on the upper right corner but is in otherwise very good condition. The underside of the tray has some scuffing and similar dark spots as on the front. There are also two sterling silver tea pots, the first measuring 9" x 9" x 5-1/2" and has a 4" hinged top. It has great detail on the handle, water spout and the four legs. The second is a bit taller and thinner, measuring 9-3/4" x 9" x 5" and shows the same overall exquisite detail. There are also three additional pieces. The first is a creme server measuring 4-3/4" x 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" and has an open top with curved pouring spout. The second is a sugar cube container measuring 5" x 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" and has a removable top. The third is an additional container (not pictured) measuring 4" x 6" x 3-1/2" that is missing the lid. The inside of each container shows some discoloration and random spotting but the complete set is in overall very good condition. Please call for more information.
