This black batting helmet with white interlocking "NY" logo on the front was worn by HOFer Reggie Jackson during his tenure with the New York Yankees, 1977-1981. He has signed it in silver ink on the brim "Reggie Jackson" and added his number "44." The signature and inscription grade an 8. Beneath the signature is a 3/4" x 5/8" piece of cloth tape onto which has been written in black marker Jackson's number "44." On the back is the manufacturer's mark "ABC" (American Baseball Cap. On the rear inside padding is written "44" in black marker. Inside the helmet is the "7 3/8" size sticker and the "Pro Celd" sticker. On the inside top of the helmet are foam and rubber padding remnants. Underneath the brim is embossed "American Baseball Cap, Media, Penna, U.S. Patent No. 2,698,434. The helmet shows nice game use, with several abrasions and scuff marks.
