Defeating the Giants three times with the spitball in the 1917 World Series, Urban "Red" Faber spent the next year in the navy, returning with 11 wins to help his White Sox clinch the 1919 pennant. Luckily, he was out of the 1919 "Black Sox" series with the flu, and was thus able to continue his Hall of Fame career. Though he spent his 20 year career with a generally weak White Sox team, Faber managed to post 46 wins between 1921 and 1922. He allowed only one home run per 37 innings and even managed to steal home once. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1964. This size 7-1/2 ring has been cast in 10K gold and was presented to White Sox pitcher Red Faber upon his induction into the Hall of Fame in 1964. On the top center face is a silver baseball set on a black stone field. Around the ring face perimeter is "Baseball Hall Of Fame" in relief on a gold background. On the left shank is an engraved gold banner that reads "Faber." Beneath this is a baseball with crossed bats on a base in relief, beneath which is an engraved gold banner that reads "Elected 1964." On the right shank is an engraved gold banner that reads "Pitcher". Beneath this is a rendition of the Hall of Fame in relief, beneath which is an engraved gold banner that reads "The National Baseball Hall Of Fame." On the inside of the ring is stamped "LGB 10K." Ring shows very light wear and is in NRMT condition.
