The last of the "Five Good Emperors," Marcus Aurelius ruled Rome from 161 AD to his death in 180 AD. This large sized bronze sestertius coin was minted circa 174 AD and is equivalent to approximately a quarter of a denarius. It features a right-facing laureate head on the front and Jupiter seated on the reverse.
