Fantastic vintage Coney Island lot including an original brochure entitled "Circus Side Show, the largest of its kind," featuring four pages on the "European Enigma - Albert/Alberta" comprised of several pictures and editorial comment. Some folds and minor tears in the paper, nice condition overall. Also included is a wooden 1930s side show "barker's cane" measuring 36" long, tapered with black painted curved handle and a small 1" ring near the handle. This piece was well used but maintains a seemly original patina. Finally there is a 1930s-1940s vintage turnstile attributed to Coney Island, in its original and correct orange paint with counter mechanism. Features include triple revolving entry fingers and jam bar to eliminate turnstile movement without presentation of a ticket. Produced by the Perey Manufacturing Company, Model HD048, also includes some of the original Scooter rider tickets with an address of "1314 Surf Avenue" (not pictured). Measuring 38" tall x 20" wide x 29" deep, flat base partly extends under the unit, in attractive original condition. Our Director of Americana, Dr. Robert M. Adams III, advises that these items were personally obtained from one of the great Coney Island collectors that he has been associated with for the past 25 years. A fine addition to any room, these items will be expensive to ship. A great LOA is included.
