Tom Mix and his sidekick horse Tony were the stars of many early Western movies, making a reported 336 films between 1910 and 1935, all but nine of which were silent features. Mix did his own stunts in almost all of his films, and was very frequently injured. He died on October 12, 1940 in an auto accident in Florence, Arizona in which he was killed by a loose metal suitcase in his car. This original "Tom Mix & Tony" children rocking horse measures approximately 40"L x 22"H x 11"D. The horse retains roughly 85 percent of its original paint. This rocking horse is still fit for a small child to ride on, and is in overall EX condition.
