In 1952, the top-of-the-line bicycle was the Columbia "5 Star." The color combination with leather seat and spectacular bright work were visually appealing. In an attempt in the 1980s to bring back the look of yesteryear, Columbia reproduced the "5 Star" from the original molds. This unit's serial number is "#132" and came from a bicycle repair man in Providence, RI. This gentleman retained several original parts from 1952, specifically a flag holder for the handle bars with five original 48-star flags, a double light set mounted on the front fender, black saddle bags, a horn on the front bars and a colorful waffle for the front wheel. All of these original 1952 parts are on this re-issued bicycle. The balloon tires give a superb cushioned ride. This item will be expensive to ship.
