Reggie Jackson excelled in track, football, and baseball in high school. In the major leagues, batting and throwing left-handed and playing outfield, he helped three teams (Oakland Athletics, 1968-75; New York Yankees, 1976-81; California Angels, 1982-87) win five World Series, six pennant races, and 10 divisional playoffs. Noted for his home-run hitting, he was nicknamed "Mr. October" for his reliable prowess in play-off and World Series games. He hit a career total of 563 home runs, placing him in the top ten of all-time home run hitters. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturer's size "44" tag. In the collar of the jersey is an embroidered strip tag with "Jackson 80 1" on it. The collar has either been reeinforced or opened. On the front left breast is the "NY" logo in navy blue tackle twill. On the back of the jersey is the player number "44." All lettering and numbering is done in navy blue tackle twill. On the inside waistband of the home white pinstripe pants is the "WILSON" manufacturers wash instructions size 35 tag. Adjacent to that is an embroidered strip tag that reads "Jackson 80 3 24". The jersey and pants show game use and, with exception for the collar of the jersey, appears to have no alterations of any kind.
