This extravagant cash register was manufactured by the National Cash Register (NCR) Company circa 1906 (according to the serial number), with the drawer having a patent date of 1888. 17" tall with a 16" x 17" base, the ornately sculpted cast metal cabinet is in the "dolphin" design pattern. Two plaques on the front read "Factory Number 548236" and "Model Size 38-1/4." The front panel is hinged and lifts to reveal the key lock and computing dials. The center plaque reads "National Cash Register Co., Dayton, Ohio, U.S.A." On the front are two rows of eleven enameled buttons each. Above these is the glass pay window, where customers and clerks could see the price rung up. On the right is an encased ticket type printer. Fully operational, the register is in overall EXMT condition with some dulling of the metal due to age and use. This item will be expensive to ship.
