Perhaps the greatest offensive player to ever play the game, Wilt Chamberlain was the first player in NBA history to be named league MVP and Rookie of the Year in the same season (1960 with the Philadelphia Warriors). He also set eight NBA season records and was named to the NBA All-Star Game in that year. Before turning pro, Wilt was a star with the Harlem Globetrotters. Wilt set two NBA game records that will likely stand forever: 100 points (1962) and 55 rebounds (1960) in a single game. In his 14-year NBA career with the Philadelphia and San Francisco Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers, Chamberlain averaged 30.1 points and 22.9 rebounds. He was named league MVP four times, All-NBA First Team seven times, and was a 13-time All-Star. "The Big Dipper" led his teams to the 1967 and 1972 NBA Championships, and retired with 31,419 career points and an NBA record 23,924 career rebounds. Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979, he was named as one of the NBA's 50 greatest players in 1996. On the inside front tail of the jersey is the "Gerry Cosby" manufacturers tag. Next to this are additional manufacturer's tags with jersey size "46" and year of manufacture, "67" on them. Across the front of the jersey is "EAST" in blue tackle twill. On the front and back of the jersey is the player number "13" in red tackle twill. Above on the back is the player name "CHAMBERLAIN" in blue tackle twill. The jersey is autographed on the back with "The Stilt" added in blue marker and rates an 8. This form of his autograph is extremely rare. The game was played in February of 1968 at MSG. The jersey shows nice game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication and an additonal COA which includes the ticket from the autograph show at which this jersey was signed.
