David Lattin was the starting center for UTEP in their NCAA champion season in 1966. He played under legendary coach Don Haskins. In 2006, the movie "Glory Road" documented the events of that 1966 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, in which Don Haskins led a team with an all-black starting lineup, a first in NCAA history. Lattin opted to leave college early when he was drafted number one by the San Francisco Warriors in 1967, and had a successful eight year professional basketball career playing for the Harlem Globetrotters, Warriors, Suns, the Pittsburgh Condors and the Memphis Tams of the ABA. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's size 46 wash instructions tag. Next to this is another tag with "2" Longer" typed on. Sewn next to that tag is an "All American Incorporated" distributors tag. Across the front of the jersey is "MEMPHIS." Below on the front and back is the player number "22." All lettering and numbering is done in yellow on green tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. David Lattin will be appearing at the Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 8th at 1pm if you would like to meet him and get an autograph!
