Patrick Ewing continues to be considered one of the New York Knicks' finest players of all time, as well as one of the greatest in NBA history. Such a prize prospect was he that the NBA introduced a Draft Lottery to prevent teams from deliberately losing games to secure a better chance of obtaining Ewing's services; the draft was won by the New York Knicks, who selected Ewing first overall in 1985. Phoenix brand "Patrick Ewing" model manufactured white sneakers with blue and orange accent colors. "PHOENIX" is screened on in blue on the back of each shoe. "Patrick Ewing" is screened on the outer ankle of each shoe in blue. The right sneaker is autographed in black marker (smudged) and rates a 7.
