Hershiser put together one of the best single seasons in pitching history in 1988. He finished the season with a record 59 consecutive scoreless innings pitched, breaking the mark held by Dodger great Don Drysdale. He was unanimously selected as the Cy Young Award winner, with a record of 23-8 and a 2.26 ERA, and led the Dodgers to a World Championship. On the inside back collar is the "Rawlings" size 44 manufacturers tag with wash instructions. Attached is a "Set 1 1988" flag tag. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Dodgers" in blue tackle twill. Below that is the player number "55" done in red tackle twill. The player number "55" also appears on the back in blue on white tackle twill. Across the back of the jersey is the player name "HERSHISER" sewn directly on the jersey in blue on white tackle twill. The "1988 World Series" patch is embroidered on the right sleeve with "Rawlings" stitched below in blue. There is a large dirt stain in the back of the jersey. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
