Tom Seaver broke into the major leagues in 1967 and retired in 1987. He played for four different teams in his career, but was primarily associated with his first: the New York Mets. Nicknamed "Tom Terrific" and "The Franchise", Seaver had 311 wins, 3,640 strikeouts and a 2.86 ERA during a 20-year career. In 1992, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Inside the back of the collar is the "Wilson" manufacturer's tag with wash instructions and jersey size "44." On the front left tail is the "80 1" year tag embroidered in red. On the inside left tail is the "Purchased from Cincinnati Reds" stamp. Across the front is the team name "CINCINNATI" in red tackle twill. Below on front and on the back is the player number "41." Across the back is the player name "SEAVER." All lettering and numbering is done in red tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
