HOFer Willie "Pops" Stargell will forever be remembered for some of his enormously long home runs. In the 1979 season, Stargell was co-NL MVP, NLCS MVP, and WS MVP. On the left front tail is "8 80" embroidered in black on a yellow patch. There is a team repair above the patch. Inside the back of the collar is the "Wilson" manufacturer's tag with wash instructions and jersey size "48." The collar is custom cut at the front. The team name "PIRATES" is done in black on white tackle twill across the front. The player number "8" is done in the same style tackle twill on the front and back. The player name "STARGELL" appears across the back in black tackle twill on a yellow nameplate The jersey shows heavy game-use and except for the cut on the collar appears to have no alterations of any kind.
