David Wright was chosen by the Mets in the 2001 amateur draft. He progressed steadily in his first three years of minor league play, quickly rising from the class AA, Binghamton, to the AAA Norfolk Tides and finally to the major leagues. On July 21, 2004, he made his major league debut starting at third base against the Montreal Expos and has been the Mets starting third baseman ever since. On the left front tail is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag. Across the front of is "Norfolk" done in blue on orange tackle twill. Inside the rear collar is a "Rawlings" size tag reading "XL." Below is a tag with wash instructions. On the rear collar is an American flag patch. Below is the player name "WRIGHT" done in white tackle twill on a black nameplate. Below that is the player number "5" also done in white tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "Mets" logo patch. Adjacent is a white "R" indicating manufacturer. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by an LOA from the Norfolk Tides.
