During his first year with the Yankees (1960), Maris was tops in the league with a .581 slugging percentage and beat out Mickey Mantle for the MVP. In 1961, of course, he belted 61 home runs to top the age-old Babe Ruth single-season record. Along with "The Mick," Maris helped usher in a new Yankees dynasty of five consecutive pennants. Maris is one of only 11 players to have won consecutive MVP Awards (1960, 1961), all of the others who are eligible have already been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Many believe that his Hall of Fame qualification is long past due. NRMT-MINT condition with only the very slightest wear.
