The 1984 Detroit Tigers displayed a dominance seldom seen in baseball. They were in first place from opening day until the final game of the World Series, having begun the season by winning nine straight games and 35 of their first 40, still the best 40-game start in Major League history. The domination continued into the post-season where they swept Kansas City in the ALCS, then beat San Diego four games to one to win the World Series. This size 9-1/2 ring is cast in 10K yellow gold. Around the top perimeter is "Detroit Tigers World Champions" in relief. On the top center is a blue stone face with inlaid baseball diamond. On the four corners of this baseball diamond are set four small round diamonds, and in the center is set a larger round diamond. On the right shank in relief is the recipient's name "Lewis" with the Detroit Tigers "D" logo below it. On the left shank in relief is "1984" with the Detroit Tigers "Tiger" logo below it. "Balfour 10K" is stamped and "Joseph W. Lewis" is engraved on the inside of the ring. Overall NRMT condition with light wear.
