A lifetime .317 hitter with four batting titles, Roberto Clemente had exactly 3,000 hits over the course of his career. So beloved was he that the five year mandatory eligibility waiting period was waived and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1973 after his tragic death in 1972. This Spalding ONL (Giles) baseball was game-used on September 2, 1966 on the occasion of HOFer Roberto Clemente's 2000th hit, which came at home vs the Cubs. Ball shows light use, with "2000" written in thick black marker across the sweet spot. Single-signed and inscribed in black ballpoint on the top panel by Clemente, signature and inscription grade a 7 to 8. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and an additional LOA from a former player.
