Rare letter on LSU "Department of Athletics" letterhead dated August 26, 1969, two double-sided pages, handwritten to "Art" and signed in blue ink by Press Maravich, LSU basketball coach and father of legendary basketball HOFer "Pistol" Pete Maravich. Historical basketball content reads in part "...everyone of the top NBA players will come to the ABA, and that the NBA can't raid the ABA because the talent isn't in the ABA...If there is a merger, Pete won't play for the Carolina Cougars...Pete doesn't want to work a 5 year contract - 2 or 3 years at the most unless the million is in escrow." Great insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of Pistol's early career. Letter is EXMT-NRMT with "Press" signature that grades an 8 to 9. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
