Gale Eugene Sayers an American gridiron football player who in 1977 became the youngest player ever voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Though knee injuries shortened his career, Sayers showed in his seven seasons that he was one of the most elusive running backs in the history of the National Football League. His totals show 9,435 combined net yards, 4,956 yards rushing, and 336 points scored. At the time of his retirement he was the NFL's all-time leader in kickoff returns. He won All-NFL honors five straight years and was named Offensive Player of the Game in three of the four Pro Bowls in which he played. On the front left tail is the "Wilson" size 46 manufacturers tag with wash instructions. On the front, back, and both sleeves is the player number "40." Across the back is the player name "SAYERS" on a navy blue name plate. All lettering and numbering is done in white on orange tackle twill. The jersey shows light game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
