On January 12, 2006, Reggie Bush elected to forgo his senior season at USC and declared himself eligible for the NFL draft. Draft analysts predicted that he would be the first overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, held by the Houston Texans. However, in a surprising move on the night before the draft, the Texans signed Mario Williams, a defensive end from North Carolina State. The New Orleans Saints then selected Bush as the number 2 overall pick in the draft. On January 3, 2007, Bush was 5th in the voting for Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. The front manufacturers tag has been removed as typical for Bush Saints' gamers. In the inside back collar is a manufacturers strip tag with "06-42" "L" on it. On the front, back, and each shoulder is the player number "25" in gold on white tackle twill. Across the back is the player name "BUSH" in gold on white tackle twill sewn on a black name plate. The jersey has black spandex sides and custom elastic sleeves. On the front at the neck is the official "NFL Equipment" logo patch. On the left shoulder is the "State of Louisiana" patch. On each sleeve below the player number is the "Reebok" embroidered logo and below this is the embroidered "Saints" logo. The jersey is autographed on the back "5" in black marker with "Rookie Gamer '06" added and rates a 9. The jersey shows nice game-use and besides the front tags being removed and custom sleeves appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
