Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France, cycling's most prestigious race, seven consecutive times from 1999 to 2005. In doing so, he beat the previous records of five wins. Armstrong retired from racing on July 24, 2005, at the end of the 2005 Tour de France. Inside the rear collar of the grey shirt is a white tag with "M-3-48", indicating jersey size. Across the neck, chest, back, shoulders and side panels of the jersey, the "Discovery Channel" sponsor logo is written in blue, white and black. The "Nike" logo is on both shoulders in white, and on the lower left front in black. On the left wrist is Armstrong’s trademark yellow band. The jersey shows wear and is accompanied by a photo of Armstrong wearing the shirt. Inside the collar of the gold log sleeve podium shirt is the "Nike" manufacturers tag screened on with shirt size "M." There are various sponsors logos throughout including "Discovery", Credit Lyonnais" and the Nike swoosh logo. The shirt shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
