One of the most talented and influential singer/songwriters in history, Billy Joel has been writing songs for over 30 years. In 1977, he released his fifth album entitled "The Stranger" and his place in rock n' roll history was secured. From "Vienna" to "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant," "The Stranger" still remains one of Joel's masterpieces. In 1978, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences awarded Billy Joel this Record of the Year Grammy for "Just The Way You Are" from "The Stranger" album. Features a gold plated gramophone atop a wood base with plaque that reads "National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Billy Joel, Record of the Year - 1978, 'Just The Way You Are.'" On the underside of the base is a 12-line NARAS rules and regulations statement. Overall EX condition with light wear.
