During the Summer Olympics of 1984, the Men’s Basketball games were held at the Forum in Inglewood, California. The games would see Team USA take home the Gold Medal and would bring together future “Dream Teamers” Patrick Ewing, Michael Jordan and Chris Mullin. The team was coached by Bob Knight and went undefeated on their way to bringing the gold back to the USA once again. Inside the rear collar is the “DESCENTE” manufacturers tag. Attached is a white tag with “SIZE NO 4 MADE IN JAPAN” which shows heavy wash wear. Ironically enough, Team USA wore jerseys made in Japan. Across the front is “USA.” Player number “6” appears on both the front and back. All numbers are ironed on and are red with white borders. On the right breast is the manufacturers ironed on logo. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It is accompanied by a hand-written LOA from Mark Raveling, son of George Raveling who was the 1984 USA Basketball team assistant coach. The letter says, in part “On the night of the 1984 Olympic Men’s basketball gold medal game, I was able to get Patrick Ewing #6 jersey which he wore during the gold medal game. Patrick Ewing gave me the #6 jersey in the locker room after the game. I was able to get into the locker room because my father George Raveling was the Assistant Coach so I had access to the locker room after the game.” Does it get better than that?
