McGinnis was known most notably for playing with the Indiana Pacers of the ABA from 1971 to 1975. He was drafted from Indiana University in 1972. In the 71-72 season at Indiana, McGinnis became the first sophomore to lead the Big Ten in scoring and rebounding. George McGinnis was one of the marquee players of the ABA, and later teamed with Julius Erving on the Philadelphia 76ers that made the NBA Finals in 1977. McGinnis finished out his NBA playing career with the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers. On the left front tail is the "Sand Knit" manufacturer's size 44 tag. Above is an additional "Milwaukee Sporting Goods" distributors tag. Across the front is “EAST” in white on red screen print. Below and on the back is the player number "30" in red on white screen print. The player name "McGINNIS" appears across the back in white screen print. There are also eight additional stars on the front and back in red on white screen print. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
