The Scooter was the NY Yankees shortstop for seven World Championships from 1941 through 1953. He was voted to five All-Star games and won the AL MVP in 1950. In 1985, Rizzuto’s number “10” was retired by the Yankees and he was enshrined into Cooperstown in 1994. On the inner band of this cap is the “Spalding” manufacturers tag. Adjacent is the cap size “7-1/8” and player name “P. Rizzuto” embroidered in green stitch. The inner band is cracking and there are pieces missing due to age. On the top is the classic interlocking “NY” logo embroidered in white. The cap shows excellent game-use with sweat staining and discoloration inside and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
