Home-grown hero Derek Jeter has come to personify what it means to be a New York Yankee, notwithstanding his captainship. A certain first-ballot Hall of Famer, Jeter has contributed heavily to the Bombers' success since his arrival. He was AL Rookie of the Year in 1996, All-Star Game MVP and World Series MVP in 2000. In 2007, Jeter's heroics continued. He batted .322 and ranked third in the American League with 206 hits. He has the highest personal winning percentage (.602) among all active players and over the last 10 season’s ranks first in the Major Leagues with 1971 hits. He recorded his sixth 200 hit season in 2007, joining Lou Gehrig as one of only two players in franchise history with as many as four; his six 200 hit seasons are the most by any shortstop in Major League history. Jeter collected four separate hitting streaks of at least 15 games in 2007, becoming the first Major Leaguer since 1941 to accomplish the feat. Interestingly, no player in the 1900s other than Jeter had a hit in as many as 92 of 100 games. On the front left tail is the "Majestic" manufacturers tag with flag tags attached reading size "48" and "2007." Inside the left seam is a wash tag with code "0062." On the front left breast is the "NY" logo in navy blue tackle twill. On the back is the player's number "2" done in navy blue tackle twill. On the back outside collar is the embroidered official "MLB" logo. On the left sleeve is a black armband worn in remembrance of Corey Lidle. Autographed on front in blue marker with “07 Game Used” added and rates a 9. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner LOA. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
