Allie Reynolds retired after the 1954 season. As it turned out, the back problems Reynolds faced in 1953 and 1954 sent him into retirement. This jersey was manufactured in 1954 but was never worn by Reynolds. It was then sent down to the minors where the "NY" was removed and has since been professionally restored. In the back collar is the “Spalding” manufacturers tag with size “44” flag tag. On the front left tail is “A Reynolds 55 22” in blue chain stitch. On the left front inside tail is the wash instructions tag with a “SET 1 1954” flag tag. On the left front breast is the “NY” logo in navy blue felt, which has been restored. On the back is the player number "22" in navy blue felt. Autographed on the front left tail and on the front left chest in blue marker and rates a 6. The jersey is game-issued and besides “NY” restoration appears to have no other alterations of any kind. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA. The shirt is accompanied by a copy of a hand-written letter from Allie Reynolds describing the history of the jersey.
