The cover of Sports Illustrated in August of 1981 dubbed John Hannah “The Best Offensive Lineman of All-Time.” He joined the Patriots in 1973 as the 4th overall pick in the 1973 NFL Draft. He played his entire professional career in Foxborough and was named All-Pro 10 times while being selected to play in 9 Pro Bowls. He is also one of the few players to have been named to the NFL All-Decade Team twice, both the 1970s and 1980s All-Decade Teams. He was also selected to the NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team and in 1991 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This trophy measures 17” x 17” x 20” and weighs approximately 15 pounds. It has a colored football mounted atop a two tier wooden base. There is a plaque in front which has “JOHN HANNAH NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS NFL OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR By Vote of Players 1981” on it. Adjacent are the Coca-Cola and NFL Players Association logos. The trophy has some light scuffing and wear on the gold football as well as on the wood base and is in EX overall condition.
