Nicknamed “The Roadrunner,” Yvan Cournoyer played right wing for the Montreal Canadiens from 1963-1979. In 1971, with the arrival of head coach Scotty Bowman, Cournoyer was placed on a line with fellow future Hall of Famers Guy Lafleur and Steve Shutt. Cournoyer scored a career-high 47 goals that year. In 1973, he had his best postseason ever, scoring 15 goals and tallying 10 assists in 17 games, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy following the Canadiens' defeat of the Chicago Black Hawks in the Stanley Cup Finals. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982. Inside the rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturers tag with wash instructions. On front is the team logo done in red on white on blue tackle twill. On the left breast is the alternate Captain’s “A” done in white on blue tackle twill. Player number “12” appears on the back and on both sleeves in white on blue tackle twill. The tie-down is fully intact at the V-neck. The jersey shows excellent game-use with team repairs and is accompanied by a LOA from Milt Byron.
