In the 1969-70 season, the Knicks won a franchise record 60 games. Reed played an important role in the Knick success, and in 1970 he became the first player in NBA history to be named the NBA All-Star Game MVP, the regular season MVP, and the NBA Playoff MVP in the same season. His most famous performance took place on May 8, 1970 during Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Lakers in Madison Square Garden. Despite a torn muscle, he started the game in front of a thrilled audience and scored the Knicks' first two field goals on his first two shot attempts. It was all the inspiration the Knicks needed, as they went on to win the game 113-99, giving NY its first NBA title. For his career, Reed averaged 18.7 points and 12.9 rebounds per game, playing 650 games. He won two Championships, was the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1965, was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1982 and in 1996 was voted to the NBA 50 Greatest Players of all time. His number “19” is retired by the Knicks. On the left front tail is the “Gerry Cosby” distributor’s tag. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK" in orange on white tackle twill. Below that and on the back is the player number "19" in the same tackle twill. Across the back is "REED" in white tackle twill. There a few team repairs on the shoulder straps. The jersey shows good game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
