Wayne Cashman played his entire NHL career with the Boston Bruins (1964-65, 1967-83) as the hard-grinding left wing on the era's most formidable forward line with superstar centre Phil Esposito and right wing Ken Hodge and was on Stanley Cup winning teams in 1970 and 1972. 1974 was his best season, when he scored 30 goals and 59 assists to finish 4th in the league in points, played in the All-Star Game and was named to the NHL Second All-Star team. He served as the captain of the Bruins from the 1978 season until 1983.Cashman is considered by many inside the hockey world to be one of the greatest fighters in the history of the NHL. The reason he wore number 14 and not his own number 12 is because Yvan Cournoyer was on the same squad and had seniority. On the inner collar is the “Gerry Cosby” tag with wash instructions. Attached is a white tag with size “48.” On front is one large “NHL” logo patch in the middle embroidered in orange, black and white stitch. Adjacent to the upper right and left are two additional “NHL” logo patches embroidered in orange and blue inside white tackle twill stars. Player number “14” appears on back and on both sleeves in black on white tackle twill. Player name “CASHMAN” appears on back in black tackle twill with white embroidered borders sewn directly on the shirt. On each shoulder is a “NHL” patch. There are elbow pads sewn into the sleeves. The jersey shows nice game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The jersey was originally sourced from Cashman himself and is accompanied by a LOA from Milt Byron.
