This baseball comes to us from the personal collection of former Mets pitcher Larry Miller. As he told us, the Mets visited NASA and these astronauts signed this ball for him. Spalding ONL (Giles) baseball signed in black ink on the side panel by NASA Astronauts James A. McDivitt and Edward H. White, who added what appears to be “6T-4.” Dated “25 June ’65,” a few weeks after their Gemini 4 (June 3-7, 1965) mission on which McDivitt was the command pilot and White was the pilot who also carried out the first extra vehicular activity in the United States manned space flight program. White died along with Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee in the in the Apollo spacecraft flash fire during a launch pad test at Kennedy Space Center on January 27, 1967. Ball is toned with a light coating of shellac, some chipping, signatures grade an 8. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
