Fascinating letter dated December 27, 1926, appears to be written to HOFer Tris Speaker from a fan, regarding the trial by Judge Landis in 1926-1927 where Tris Speaker and Ty Cobb were accused of having fixed a game in 1919 (they were both exonerated by Landis). Letter reads in part “In this hour of trial where apparently Judge Landis & his associates are...willing to do the fair thing of having this disgruntled ball player brought face to face with you & Ty Cobb, two of the greatest players in the history of baseball.” Fascinating content from the period.
