Mickey Mantle is an American Icon. Playing all eighteen seasons in pinstripes, The Mick won three American League MVP Awards including the Triple Crown in 1956. He was a part of seven World Championship teams and was elected to sixteen All-Star games. His number “7” is forever retired by the Bronx Bombers and immortalized in Monument Park. Mickey was enshrined in Cooperstown in 1974 on the first possible ballot. This Rawlings/Adirondack bat has the model number “288D” stamped into the knob end. Mantle’s last name is stamped into the front barrel. Weight; 32.3 oz. Length; 33.75 inches. Wood; ash. The handle is cracked. Player number “7” is written on the knob end in black marker. There are cleat marks on the end of the barrel. Turquoise bat rack marks appear on the bat consistent with 1960s Yankee Stadium paint. The bat shows moderate game-use. It has been signed by the Mick on the right barrel in blue marker rating an 8. The bat is accompanied by a LOA from MEARS graded an A8 and a LOA from JSA for the autograph.
