This bat comes to us from the personal collection of Johnny Blanchard. Johnny has written a Letter of Authenticity that accompanies this bat which states, in part “This bat was given to me by Mickey Mantle. I had used a different one in BP and hit the ball pretty good. I told him I liked the model (K90). The game starts and he used this particular bat, he popped up and was really mad. He came into the dugout and told me I could have the bat. I quickly put my number (38) on the knob with 2 lines underneath. The next day I used it and broke it on my first at bat.” Manuf: H&B, Model: K90, Mickey Mantle, Length: 35 in, Weight: 31.8 oz, Wood: Ash, Condition: Cracked at the handle with a 3.5” sliver missing. The model number “K90” is stamped into the knob end. Blanchard’s number “38” is written on the knob end in black marker and was written and underlined by Blanchard himself. Hit marks are visible on the back barrel. Blue and red bat rack streaks are present on the front and back barrel as well as the knob and handle. Overall: EXCELLENT with light game use. Accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA as well as a hand-signed LOA from Johnny Blanchard himself on NY Yankees stationary.
