A record setting year for Hammerin' Hank, 47 home runs, and the most he would ever have in one season. He also had 71 walks and drove in 118 while hitting .327 for the season. With numbers like that, it’s no wonder he led the majors in the 1971 season in slugging percentage. On the left front tail of this pinstriped flannel is the "Wilson" manufacturer's label with wash instructions and jersey size "42". Inside the collar is a white patch with year "1971" stitched on in black. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Braves" in script-style lettering. On the back is the player number "44". Both the team name and player number are done in navy blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the team embroidered "Braves" logo patch. Autographed on front in blue marker and rates a 7. It was customary for teams to carry stock jerseys like this. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations. The autograph is accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
