A lifetime .317 hitter with four batting titles, Roberto Clemente had exactly 3,000 hits over the course of his career. So beloved was he that the five year mandatory eligibility waiting period was waived and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1973 after his tragic death in 1972. In the 1971 World Series, the Pirates defeated the Orioles in seven games behind Clemente’s MVP performance. This ring is a salesman's sample and practically identical to the one presented to HOFer Roberto Clemente after winning the 1971 World Series. Cast in 10K yellow gold, around the top perimeter of this size 10-1/2 ring is World Champions” in relief. Around the lower perimeter is “Pittsburgh 1971” in relief. In the top center is set a large round synthetic diamond. On the right shank is an engraved raised banner that reads “Clemente,” below which is a rendition of Three Rivers Stadium in relief, below which is a raised baseball with crossed bats engraved with Clemente’s number “21.” On the left shank is an engraved raised banner that reads “Pirates,” below which is a raised Pirate head logo. On the inside of the ring is stamped “Jostens 10K.” Ring shows light wear and is in EXMT-NRMT condition.
