“Nate the Great” was feared and praised by legends Bob Pettit, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain. Among his many accomplishments, Thurmond still holds the regular season record for rebounds in a quarter with 18. Nate was named to the NBA Top 50 All-Time Team in 1996 and was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1985. On the left front tail is the “Wilson” manufacturers tag with wash instructions and jersey size “42.” Across the front is “The CITY” done in painted on gold appliqué. On front is player number “42” done in a circle with a bridge background in the same gold appliqué. Thurmond has signed the front in blue marker rating a 7-8. On back is a cable car display, also done in gold appliqué with player number “42” at the center. There is a vintage Thurmond signature on back which is very light and done in blue marker. The jersey shows excellent game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It is accompanied by a hand-signed LOA from Big Nate himself which states in part “This is my Golden State Warriors Jersey that I wore during the 1967-1968 season (signed) Nate Thurmond. Also accompanied by a LOA from JSA as well as a MEARS LOA graded A10. This is the first Nate Thurmond Golden State jersey we have seen in ten years.
