Hall of Famer Earl "The Pearl" Monroe dazzled fans with his basketball skills and showmanship at Winston-Salem State, with the Baltimore Bullets and with the New York Knicks. Playing for Hall of Fame coach Big House Gaines, in 1967 Monroe averaged 41.5 points per game and lead Winston-Salem State to the NCAA Division II crown. He followed this up by winning the 1967 NBA Rookie of the Year with the Bullets. In 1973 Earl was an important component to the Knicks NBA Championship team. In his 13-year NBA career Monroe tallied 17,454 total points, averaged 18.8 points per game and played in four All-Star games. He was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1996 the flamboyant passer, dribbler, and scorer was selected as one of the NBA's 50 greatest players. White mesh jersey with orange and blue stripe trim around neck and arm openings. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Gerry Cosby" distributor's tag. Below that is the "Medalist Sand-Knit New York Knicks" manufacturer's tag. Attached to that is an additional manufacturer's tag with the jersey size "46" on it. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK" in orange on blue tackle twill. Below that and on the back is the player number "15" in orange on blue tackle twill. Across the back is "MONROE" in blue tackle twill. There is an autograph Earl "The Pearl" Monroe in blue marker rating a strong 8 on the back of the jersey below the number "5." The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
