Home-grown hero Derek Jeter has come to personify what it means to be a New York Yankee, notwithstanding his captainship. A certain first-ballot Hall of Famer, Jeter has contributed heavily to the Bombers' success since his arrival. He was AL Rookie of the Year in 1996, All-Star Game MVP and World Series MVP in 2000. On the front left tail is the "Majestic" manufacturers tag with flag tags attached reading size "48" and "2009." The year tag was added after the shirt was manufactured. The bottom stitching of the tag was opened and the “2009” tag was added. Inside the left seam is a wash tag with code "0062." On the front left breast is the "NY" logo in navy blue tackle twill. On the back is the player's number "2" done in navy blue tackle twill. On the back outside collar is the embroidered official "MLB" logo. On the left sleeve is the “Yankee Stadium Inaugural Season” patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind with the exception of the mentioned team addition. This proves once again that shirts are made for players to wear, not for the intent of collecting. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner LOA. MLB Hologram# 198997LH.
