Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr, set a new standard for shortstops, setting the standard for Derek and Alex who would soon follow. Known as the Iron Man, his consecutive games played streak is untouchable these days. He won a World Championship, Rookie of the Year and an MVP award during his career which led him to Cooperstown. On the left front inside tail is the "Rawlings" manufacturers size 46 tag with wash instructions. Attached is the "SET 2 1988" flag tag. Across the front is "Orioles" in orange on black tackle twill. Below on the left and on back is the player number "8." Across the back is the player name "RIPKEN" on a grey name plate. All lettering and numbering is done in orange on black tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the "Rawlings" embroidered logo. The jersey is signed on front in black marker and rates an 8. It exhibits extra length. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
