This 29th PGA Championship program has “At Detroit, Michigan June 18-24 1947” on the cover along with “Plum Hollow Golf Club.” At the centerfold on the scorecard, there are 24 period signatures which make up a very rare and unique collection. These signatures include Babe Ruth rating a 9, Walter Hagan rating a near perfect 10, Byron Nelson rating an 8, Ben Hogan rating a 9 as well as Sam Byrd, a former NY Yankee player which ties the Bambino to golf. Other notables include Masters winner Claude Harmon (who we have been advised by Jimmy Spence is a very rare and tough signature), Ed Dudley, Vic Ghezzi, Chuck Hubert, Lee Worsham, Bobby Locke, Lloyd Mangrum, Jimmy Demaret, Walter Romans, Dick Metz and Jim Ferrier. All signatures are done in blue period ink and rate an overall 8 with some higher and a few showing light smudging. The book itself is in VG-EX overall condition with some cover wear. The staples used for binding have been removed. This beautiful program is accompanied by a LOA from JSA for the signatures.
