Edward "Cocky" Collins' 3311 hits place him eighth on the all-time list; this tremendous player hit .333 lifetime and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1939. One of Connie Mack's key players during a run of five pennants in six years (1909-1914), Collins never won a batting title because he played concurrently with Ty Cobb, although he batted over .340 in 10 of his 25 seasons. He did lead the American League in runs scored three times and stolen bases four times, and led 2nd basemen in fielding average nine times. With the White Sox, Collins hit .409 in the 1917 World Series. He was one of the few honest players on the 1919 "Black Sox" that threw the World Series. This 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" black and white Hall of Fame plaque postcard has been signed in black fountain pen by Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox HOFer Eddie Collins. Pasted to black construction paper for insertion into a display binder. Extremely rare as these postcards were available only since the late 1940s and Collins passed away in 1951. Postcard is EXMT with signature that grades an 8 to 9 with minor rubbing on the "ddi" in "Eddie." Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
